A posture of reverence
Hebrews 12 calls for grateful worship with reverence and awe within the invitation to approach God through Jesus. Holy fear recognizes that God is not trivial and our choices matter. It can lead to humility, repentance, steady obedience, and care for others.
Love is not an afterthought
First John 4 grounds Christian life in God’s love and addresses fear associated with punishment. Read these passages together rather than allowing one image to cancel the other. Mature reverence is not the same as persistent dread or compulsive checking of one’s salvation.
What we will not ask of you
No donation can purchase safety from judgment. No forced deadline, public prayer performance, or repeated declaration proves sincerity. You are free to ask questions and step away. Ministries should not exploit fear to build dependency.
