AWARE II prospectively examined cardiac-arrest resuscitation, physiology, and survivors’ reports across multiple centers. It is relevant to questions about consciousness around resuscitation, but substantial attrition between arrests, survival, and interviews limits the sample from which conclusions can be drawn. Recalled experiences and objective perception tests are different evidence streams. The study should not be described as a controlled demonstration of heaven, hell, or every claim about awareness beyond death. Read the actual methods and limitations rather than a headline. An original overview is not an independent replication, and unresolved timing or causal questions should remain unresolved here.
